The Staplegrove Trust

The Staplegrove Relief in Need Charity – Registered No 202257

The Charity – known locally as the Staplegrove Trust – has been operating in its present form since 1978 with the remit to make grants of money to persons in the area of benefit who are in need, hardship or distress.  Since 2000 this remit has been extended to include assistance to any other charitable purpose in the area of benefit.

Examples of grants made have been to first year University students for books, Staplegrove School for trips and individuals suffering financial hardship.

The Trust is administered by nine Trustees who include the Rector and two nominees of the Parish Council.  The Secretary is Mrs Pamela Sharpe, 17 Lawn Road, Staplegrove, TA2 6EH.

The work of the Trust is dependent on two things:-

a)      financial resources and, more importantly,

b)      information on residents who are suffering need or hardship.

Whilst the resources of the Trust are relatively modest the greatest drawback is lack of knowledge of anyone suffering hardship which it may be possible to help.

If you know of anyone who might be in such a position please contact the Secretary of the Trust in the first instance.  All information will be treated in the strictest of confidence but if we don’t know, we can’t help.
